(VOVworld) – Egyptian voters started casting ballots on Monday in a presidential election which will last until Tuesday, May 27th.

The Presidential Elections Commission said more than 53.9 million eligible voters have cast their ballots to elect a new leader for 4 years, replacing the interim administration of Mohammed Morsi.16,000 judges will monitor the elections nationwide, aided by 80 domestic non-governmental organizations and 6 foreign organizations, including the Arab League, the European Union, and the African Union.
Elections’ results will be announced on June 5th.
