(VOVworld) – This week Egypt's President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi signed into law election-related legislation, paving the way to setting a date for a long-delayed parliamentary election. The election law allocates 448 seats to individual candidates and 120 seats to Party representatives with quotas for women, youth and Christians. The previous law allocated 420 seats to individuals and 120 to lists. Egypt's parliamentary election scheduled for March was delayed after the Constitutional Court ruled part of the election law unconstitutional.
