Le Hang, Deputy Secretary-General of the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP), said the conversation brought renewed hope to exporters.

“Initial information about President Trump’s commitments to the General Secretary during the call fuel the domestic business community’s hope for better outcomes in the near future,” she said.

Economist Pham The Anh, Head of the Economics Department at the National Economics University, welcomed the two leaders’ commitment to strengthening delegation exchanges and high-level contact, and deepening cooperation in key areas such as science and high technology.

“If the US recognizes Vietnam as a market economy, it would elevate Vietnam’s position globally, make it easier and cheaper to access international capital markets, and attract more foreign investment. At the same time, it would remove barriers to importing high-tech products from the US,” he said.
