Attendees affirmed that saving energy is one of the goals in the the national development strategy.

Nguyen Anh Tuan, former Deputy Director of the Vietnam Energy Institute, said: "Saving energy in energy exploitation, transportation, conversion, and consumption is the cheapest solution. We need to make coordinated solutions in state management, technical and financial assistance, and technology development to realize the national target program. We should restructure economic sectors toward increasing high tech and energy saving industries and set up a fund to encourage energy saving."
