The statement was made during an EU summit in Brussels, Belgium. Some other EU leaders expressed their hopes to continue negotiations on signing an agreement with Ukraine, but raised objections against Kiev’s proposal on finance support for Ukraine. Finland’s Prime Minister Jyrki Katainen said that signing a cooperative deal is a valuable choice and that the EU does not use its money to buy any country.
Previously, differences arose between the EU and Ukraine after Kiev stopped negotiations for the association agreement with the EU amidst the EU and the International Monetary Fund not ready for financial support for Ukraine.
