Fergus Sweeney, head of EMA’s clinical studies and manufacturing task force at EMA, said EU procedures for authorizing COVID-19 vaccines will follow established standards, adding that vaccines must be authorized by the EMA before they can be used in the European Union. No COVID-19 vaccine has yet been authorized in Europe.
Sue Middleton, president of the Executive Board of Vaccines Europe, told a hearing in the EU Parliament that a dose of COVID-19 vaccine will be priced between 6-18 USD.
According to Russian consumer safety watchdog Rospotrebnadzor on Tuesday, Russia expects to register a second potential vaccine against COVID-19 by October 15. The vaccine has been developed by Siberia’s Vector Institute, which completed early-stage human trials of the vaccine last week.
