(VOVworld)- EU leaders held a summit on Tuesday in Brussels to discuss the results of the 8th European Parliament election as extremist and Euroscepticism parties gained majorities in several countries. They also discussed ways to select a new President of the European Committee when Jose Manuel Barroso’s term of office ends. The top candidates are Jean-Claude Juncker of the European People’s Party (EPP) and Martin Schulz of the Party of European Socialists (PES). Extremist and anti-EU parties won decisively in the EP general elections held in 28 member countries, shocking many in Europe.
