Europe facing its greatest danger since World War II, says Danish PM

(VOVWORLD) - Europe is “in the most difficult and dangerous situation since the end of the Second World War,” Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen warned on Wednesday ahead of an informal summit of European Union leaders in Copenhagen.

Wednesday's summit followed a spate of troubling incidents at Danish airports, where unidentified drones caused major disruptions last week. Authorities have said they suspect the drones are linked to foreign espionage.
Last month, multiple drones intruded Polish airspace, and fighter jets were spotted entering Estonian airspace without permission, raising concerns among the European nations.
France, Germany, and Sweden have said they will send military personnel and anti-drone systems to Denmark to boost its air security.
The Wednesday summit discussed ways to bolster EU defenses and support for Ukraine, and prevent new conflicts in the coming decade.
