FDI in Vietnam continues to rise

(VOVWORLD) - Registered foreign investment in Vietnam totaled more than 6.1 billion USD by March 20, up 13.4% from to the same period last year, according to the Foreign Investment Agency under the Ministry of Planning and Investment. 

The processing and manufacturing industry took the lead, attracting over 3.9 billion USD. It was followed by the real estate and wholesale sectors.

Singapore topped the list of foreign investors in the reviewed period with a total investment capital of over 2.5 billion USD. Hong Kong (China) came second and mainland China third.

Hanoi drew the largest amount of foreign investment with more than 970 million USD, followed by Bac Ninh and Quang Ninh provinces.

In the first quarter of the year, 4.6 billion USD of foreign direct investment (FDI) was realized, up 7% from the same period in 2023.
