Female foreign ambassadors wish Vietnam happy Lunar New Year

(VOVWORLD) - Female diplomats who are ambassadors of Canada, New Zealand, Norway, and Switzerland visited the Nguyen Dinh Chieu school for visually impaired children on Friday. They and the students together wrapped Banh chung (square sticky rice cakes) and share wonderful things about Vietnamese Lunar New Year Festival (Tet) and resolutions in the Year of the Pig.

In their New Year addresses, the diplomats said Tet is an important, traditional festival, which incorporates the cultural beauty and values of the Vietnamese. Vietnam on its path of international integration retains national values, which they said are a foundation for a country’s sustainable development.

New Zealand Ambassador Wendy Matthews wished Vietnam harmony and compassion. Norwegian Ambassador Grete Lochen said may the year 2019 bring the best things to children, the future of Vietnam.

Swiss Ambassador Beatrice Maser Mallor praised diversity and wished Vietnam prosperity, saying everybody can contribute to the world’s development.

The four female diplomats sent their best wishes to Vietnamese girls and women and emphasized the role of women in keeping their family happy and contributing to socio-economic development.
