Hoang Trung, Director of the Plant Protection Department of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, said exporting durian is a long-term strategy and part of Vietnam's agricultural development strategy.
“This will open up more opportunities to export durian to China through official channels and in large quantities that fully meet the criteria set by China,” said Trung.
But he insisted, “Businesses need to work closely with growers, state agencies, and customers to develop and maintain a sustainable market. Growing areas and growers need to maintain the approved growing area codes, and packaging facilities must comply with the requirements set by China.”
