At the meeting in Ho Chi Minh City, the NA Standing Committee planned to allocate a total of 30 full-time NA deputies based on which the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee’s Standing Committee of HCM City will introduce 46 candidates. The participants suggested increasing the number of full-time NA deputies and such representatives as farm owners, businessmen, overseas Vietnamese and youth volunteers.
Vo Thi Kim Hong, President of HCM City’s Bar Association, said as a major and dynamic urban area, “the role of Ho Chi Minh City’s NA deputies is very important. We need to have an appropriate number of fulltime deputies who help us listen to people’s aspirations and follow the city’s development. They will then consult the legislative body to contribute to national development.”

At the consultative meetings of provinces, deputies agreed on the need to ensure the number of candidates, gender, and ethnicity in pursuant to the Law on Election of Deputies to the National Assembly and People’s Council.
