The Australian Financial Review’s coverage Vietnam’s 13th National Party Congress praised Vietnam’s success in controlling the COVID-19 epidemic in 2020, enabling domestic tourism and daily life to return almost to normal in Vietnam.

According to paper, Vietnam's leaders are focusing on attracting more foreign investment now that Vietnam has become "an essential link" in the global supply chain. The article quoted senior advisor of the Australia-Vietnam Business Council Francis Wong as saying that one of the keys to successful economic policies in Vietnam is a team of leaders who are always eager to promote an open economy.
