Bui Thi Hue, Vietnam’s chargé d’affaires in Thailand noted that Vietnam and Thailand marked the 10th anniversary of their strategic partnership in 2023. Over the years, bilateral relations have been reinforced in all fields, with deep political trust and cooperation in economy-trade-investment and security-defense among the bright spots.

"Vietnam and Thailand have jointly built an action plan for implementing the enhanced strategic partnership for the 2022-2027 period that serves as a solid foundation for bolstering ties in all key areas. Thailand wishes to continue expanding cooperation and friendship with Vietnam, which can be seen in maintaining high-level meetings and important cooperation mechanisms. All in all, the relationship between Vietnam and Thailand is not only multidimensional but also very close. With the continuous strengthening in many areas of cooperation, relations between the two countries are on a good track of development, with much trust and great potential for the future," said Ms Hue.

At the fifth meeting of the Joint Committee on Bilateral Cooperation, Vietnam and Thailand will discuss measures for fostering ties across the board, from politics-diplomacy and economy-trade-investment to security-defense on the basis of the action plan for implementing the enhanced strategic partnership from 2022 to 2027.

The two sides will look into the implementation of the “Three Connections” initiative to ensure mutual benefit, with a focus on digital transformation, green transition, and the circular economy to boost the two economies’ connectivity.
