They have had their test results come back negative for three times in a row and their health has recovered. Both have been quarantined at Binh Xuyen District Medical Center in the province, where most of the Covid-19 infections have been detected in Vietnam so far. One of the patients was among eight workers of Japan-invested Nihon Plast Company sent to Wuhan City, the epicenter of the deadly pneumonia virus outbreak. The other contracted the virus from her neighbor, another of the eight workers returning from Wuhan.

On Tuesday morning, two other Vinh Phuc patients who were both among the workers returning from Wuhan, were discharged from the National Hospital of Tropical Diseases in Hanoi. Eleven of the 16 Covid-19 infections confirmed in Vietnam so far have been in Vinh Phuc. Of the remaining five, three were found in Ho Chi Minh City, one in Khanh Hoa and another in Thanh Hoa. Eleven patients have been discharged from hospital.

Medical experts have confirmed Vietnam has the capacity, experience and wherewithal to treat infected patients. The WHO said Saturday Vietnam has responded well to the epidemic from the very outset, preventing its spread.
