Economic cooperation was one of main priorities during Wednesday’s meeting between the French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna and her Chinese counterpart Qin Gang in Paris on the occasion of Qin’s first European visit.

French Foreign Minister Colonna said France  is well aware of China's important role in the international arena and the substantial influence that China can have on world peace and stability.

“China has come up with proposals that we can respond to if both sides are firmly committed to adhering to the basic principles of the UN Charter,” said Colonna.

Qin said that China is determined to work with France and other countries in the world to address global challenges. After France, Qin visited Norway on Thursday.
