One of proposed amendments is to protect state-of-emergency police powers, such as to conduct warrantless searches and order house arrests, from court challenges. Currently the powers are included in an act and could be challenged at constitutional court.
Another proposal is to strip some natural-born citizens of their nationality if they are convicted of terrorism. Pursuant to the law in force, the stripping is only applied to those who are granted French citizenship.
Debates on the revision will begin from early February 2016.
