France, Mongolia to promote energy cooperation
(VOVWORLD) - Emmanuel Macron on Sunday made a brief, symbolic visit to Mongolia, the first by a French president.

During a meeting with his Mongolian counterpart Ukhnaa Khurelsukh, Macron proposed strengthening bilateral cooperation, especially in the energy sector.
Macron asked the Mongolian government to license the French nuclear energy group Orano to carry out a large-scale uranium mining project in the Gobi Desert of Mongolia, under a strategy of diversifying France’s energy sources.
Macron’s Mongolia visit followed his attendance at the G7 Summit in Japan.
