(VOVworld) - Vietnamese Ambassador to France Duong Chi Dung on Wednesday presented the friendship insignia to Professor Michel Guillou for his contributions to the friendship and educational cooperation between Vietnam and France as well as Francophone members. At the ceremony Ambassador Dung praised the professor’s efforts in promoting Francophone education and development in Vietnam:  On behalf of the Vietnamese government, I would like to extend my sincere thanks and deep gratitude to the professor’s contributions to Vietnam and the International Organization of La Francophone. We consider the organization a space for 890 million people use French and respect its common values. This community is built on the solidarity and friendship of different peoples, bringing them closer despite their geographical distance. The International Organization of La Francophone would be unlikely to reach the achievements as it did without Guillou’s continuous contributions.

Professor Guillou was presented the “for the education cause” insignia by Vietnam’s Ministry of Education and Training in 1999.
