The product is produced by Loc Troi Group, a leading provider of agricultural services and products in Vietnam. It is available on the shelves of more than 250 hypermarkets and over 3,000 supermarkets throughout France.

Philipp Rosler, an independent member of the group’s Board of Directors, said that the event was extremely meaningful to both sides as it represents the first major trade contract implemented on the basis of the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA).

France is Loc Troi’s first target market in Europe, he said adding that Germany, Italy, and other European nations will be the firm’s coming targets.

Rosler stressed that aside from top-quality products in terms of taste and output, Loc Troi can also guarantee the stable production and export of items.

Khiem Nhat Thanh, general director of T&T Food, an importer for distribution systems in France, noted that a partnership with Loc Troi in March last year resulted in the availability of ‘Com Vietnam’ at shopping chains by E.Leclerc and Carrefour.

He added that T&T Food plans to import 107 containers of the product next year.

According to customs data, Vietnam shipped 17,000 tonnes of rice to France, making up 2.9% of the European country’s total rice import demand.
