Friday sees lowest COVID-19 death toll in 2 months

(VOVWORLD) -From 5pm on Thursday to 5pm on Friday, Vietnam recorded 56 deaths, the lowest number of deaths in the past 2 months, according to the Ministry of Health.

In the past 24 hours, there were 3,985 new infections, including 8 imported cases and 3,977 domestic cases. Ho Chi Minh City, Tay Ninh and Ca Mau all recorded a sharp decrease in cases.

5,202 patients recovered during the day, raising the total number of recoveries since the onset of the pandemic to 803,326.

Vietnam has so far reported 881,522 infections, ranking 40 out of 223 countries and territories, while with the ratio of infections per 1 million people, Vietnam ranks 154 out of 223 countries and territories (on average, there are 8,951 infections for every 1 million people).
