G7 finance ministers discuss funding for Ukraine

(VOVWORLD) - Finance ministers for the Group of Seven leading economies met Thursday in Germany to discuss a solution to Ukraine's budget deficit problem as the Russia-Ukraine conflict continues to destabilize the global economy.

Speaking at the opening of the meeting in Koenigswinter, German Finance Minister Christian Lindner called for funding to allow Ukraine to defend itself over the next months.

A "double-digit billion euro" figure is needed to assure Ukraine's "liquidity", Lindner said.
