During the 2-day G7 summit in Sicily, Italy, the G7 leaders said they are ready to take stronger actions if North Korea continues its nuclear programs, which they said threaten regional and global peace. They reiterated commitments to opening markets and fighting protectionism and unfair trade.

All G7 countries, except the US, pledged to implement the Paris accord on climate change. US President Donald Trump has recently twitted that he will decide whether to withdrawal from the agreement or not next week. The G7 said they are ready to impose more restrictions to Russia if the situation in Ukraine requires them to do so. Their joint statement also expressed concerns about the situation in the East Sea and East China Sea and called for demilitarization in disputed entities.
