General election a success with turnout rate of more than 98%

(VOVWORLD) - Overall voter turnout of 98.43% has reflected voters’ sense of responsibility and strong confidence nationwide in the integrity of the National Assembly and People’s Councils elections for the 2021-2026 term, according to the National Election Council.

Bui Van Cuong, National Assembly Secretary General and Chief of the National Election Council’s Office, told the press that voters nationwide have demonstrated their trust in the leadership of the Party and the State.

“Communications work produced heartening results and created a feeling of pride among people throughout the country. Preparations for election day were very good," he said.

"The media clearly conveyed the excitement of cadres, party members, and voters, especially the elderly and first-time voters. Voters strictly complied with laws and COVID-19 regulations. The election was conducted efficiently and in the spirit of solidarity and national pride,” Mr. Cuong noted.

The National Election Council will announce the results and list the names of  those elected to the National Assembly no later than June 12, 20 days after Election Day. Election results and lists of deputies elected to local People's Councils will be made public no later than June 2, 10 days after Election Day.
