General Nguyen Chi Thanh Museum inaugurated

(VOVWORLD) - Thua Thien-Hue province and the family of General Nguyen Chi Thanh inaugurated General Nguyen Chi Thanh Museum at No.144 Dang Thai Than street, Hue city, on Saturday to mark the General’s 55th death anniversary.

Covering an area of 650 sq m, the Museum has a fixed and topical display, a reading area, meeting hall, and outdoor exhibit. There are about 400 documents, items, and photos of his life and revolutionary career and his contributions to Thua Thien-Hue and the nation in general in the two resistance wars against the French and American, and the building of socialism in the north.

General Nguyen Chi Thanh, whose real name was Nguyen Vinh, was born on January 1, 1914 in a poor peasant family in Quang Dien district, Thua Thien-Hue province. He was an outstanding politician, military advisor, and talented general. His name is associated with the revolutionary cause of national liberation of the Party and Vietnamese people in the 20th century.
