(VOVworld) - Georgia’s Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili said Tuesday he has dismissed Defense Minister Irakli Alasania and appointed Mindia Janelidze to the post. Janelidze, 36 years old, is currently Secretary of the State Security and Crisis Management Council. The Prime Minister said he decided to sack Alasania for his politicization of a corruption investigation within the Defense Ministry and to make possible a more impartial investigation. Alasainia called the charges groundless and politically motivated, characterizing it as an attack on Georgia's Euro-Atlantic choice.
