(VOVworld) - Major German newspapers have praised positive prospects in bilateral relations between Vietnam and the US following Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong’s first ever visit to the US. Deutsche Welle has an article by Robidon Ebbighausen considering bilateral economic cooperation as a foundation and driving force for bilateral ties based on the comprehensive partnership set up in 2013. The Die Tageszeitung printed Sven Hansen’s article on the visit entitled “From Ho Chi Minh Trail to a meeting with President Obama”. The article hailed positive progress in bilateral ties following the 2013 comprehensive partnership, the US loosening of its arms embargo last year and the first ever visit by a Vietnamese Communist Party leader to the US. The author wrote that Vietnam has pursued an independent foreign policy without any military alliance and alliance established against a 3^rd party and not letting foreign country building military base in Vietnam.”
