German President begins Vietnam visit

(VOVWORLD) -German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and his wife  arrived in Hanoi on Tuesday morning, starting their two-day state visit to Vietnam at the invitation of President Vo Van Thuong and his wife.
After an official welcome ceremony at the Presidential Palace, the German President will hold talks with President Vo Van Thuong, witness the signing and exchange of cooperation documents, meet with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue, visit the Temple of Literature, and meet with labor recruitment partners to discuss labor exchange between Vietnam and Germany.
President Frank-Walter Steinmeier's visit takes place in the context of the two countries' relations and cooperation becoming more extensive, effective, and comprehensive after nearly 50 years of establishing relations.
His state visit to Vietnam shows that Germany values and wishes to further consolidate and promote the strategic partnership with Vietnam.
The visit will contribute to increasing understanding and political trust, creating new momentum, and promoting cooperation between the two countries.
