Germany, France support Spain in Catalan crisis

French President Emmanuel Macron told reporters in Brussels that the coming European Union (EU) summit will be marked by a message of unity with Spain in the Catalan issue, along with support for Spain’s new Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy. German Chancellor Angela Merkel said she hopes Spain can find a constitutional solution to the problem as Spain moves to suspend Catalonia’s autonomy.
