Germany raises economic growth forecast
(VOVWORLD) - The German government has significantly raised its growth forecast for 2017 from 1.5 to 1.9% and for 2018 from 1.6% to 2% based on positive figures from its economy, the Handelsblatt newspaper reported on Friday.

Handelsblatt said the German economy was benefiting from better-than-expected global developments and higher domestic investments. Economics Minister Brigitte Zypries said the economy is developing in a positive way. The German government’s economics department even raised its forecast for economic growth to 2% for this year, driven by economic data showing that the largest economy in Europe will grow stronger, other sources reported.
