Ghana becomes Vietnam’s largest rice export market in September

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam’s rice exports dropped sharply in September as the Philippines, Vietnam’s largest rice importer, temporarily suspended imports, according to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA).

During this period, Ghana emerged as Vietnam’s top rice export market, accounting for nearly 22% of total export volume, followed by Côte d’Ivoire with over 21%, and Malaysia with nearly 10%.

Specifically, Vietnam exported approximately 467,000 tons of rice in September, earning around more than 230 million USD.
By the end of September 30, Vietnam’s cumulative rice exports reached 6.825 million tons, bringing in 3.486 billion USD, a 2.05% decline in volume and a 19.98% drop in value compared to the same period last year.
