The Asia-Pacific region experienced a strong recovery with an 8% increase, although it has not yet returned to pre-COVID-19 levels.

UN Tourism Secretary-General Zurab Pololikashvili said that international tourism has continued to experience sustained growth so far in 2025 in terms of international arrivals and most importantly in receipts, despite high inflation in tourism services and geopolitical tensions.

Africa and Europe in particular stand out for their results. UN Tourism forecasts that global tourism will grow by 3-5% for the whole year, but geopolitical uncertainties and high costs may pose potential risks that could negatively affect the industry’s development outlook.
