Government meets on law building - ảnh 1

(VOVworld) – The Government on Monday held a meeting on law building chaired by Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung. Cabinet members studied a report on a pilot project to stop organizing the people’s committees at district and ward levels, as well as a report on local administrations in the revised 1992 Constitution.

Prime Minister Dung called for more efforts to decide on a model of local administration with or without the people’ committees. He focused on the need to clarify the functions, duties and authorities of the government, particularly the cross-coordination and checks between state agencies in implementing the legislative, executive and judicial rights. The Prime Minister stressed that the constitutional revisions concerning the government and local administrations should be commented on by every member of the cabinet. Dung also asked for more responsibilities of ministers and coordination between agencies during the law-building process.

The government meeting will continue on Tuesday.
