Politburo member Truong Thi Mai, Head of the Party Central Committee’s Mass Mobilization Commission, called on localities to continue to institutionalize the Party’s guidelines and State laws on implementing democracy regulations at the grassroots level, uphold the people’s right of mastery, better serve the public, and increase dialogues with the public.

Ms. Mai underscored the importance of democratic practice in businesses, especially non-state enterprises.

She noted: “We should focus on 5 issues. First, democracy should be combined with administrative reforms because the grassroots administration works directly with the people. Second, it’s necessary to increase dialogues with the people to deal with their problems. The implementation of democracy regulation should match the conditions in each locality.”
