Hai Duong’s fresh lychees exported to Thailand for first time

(VOVWORLD) - Ameii Vietnam JSC exported 10 tons of fresh lychee to Thailand by sea on Saturday, marking the first time the fresh fruit of Vietnam has hit the shelves in Thailand.

The company plans to export 20 tons of fresh lychees to supermarkets chain and stores in Thailand every week.

According to the provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, by May 31 Hai Duong had sold 29,000 tons of lychees, 15,000 of which were to China, Laos, and Cambodia.

1,500 tons of fresh and frozen lychees have been shipped to demanding markets in Japan, the US, Singapore, Australia, the EU, the Middle East, Malaysia, and the Republic of Korea.

Additional 5,000 tons of lychees will be collected from now until the end of the season for fresh and frozen exports to Japan, the US, Australia, the EU, and Singapore.
