The program, co-organized by the Communist Review, Hanoi, and the Nhan Dan People's Newspaper,  consisted two parts "Vietnam – A resilient nation that sacrifices for the great cause" and “Vietnam - Inspiration of peace and development”.

The elaborately choreographed musical performances, interwoven with thematic reports "The country of heroes" and "Heroes of the new era", and valuable documentary images highlighted the new spirit, new opportunity of the country in peace and confirmed the August Revolution in 1945 as one of the most brilliant milestones of national history of the 20th century.

At the "Independence Star" program, leaders of the Party and State gave 20 savings books to revolutionary veterans, heroic Vietnamese mothers, military heroes, wounded and sick soldiers, and war veterans who devoted their lives to national freedom and independence.
