Hanoi honors creative space projects

(VOVWORLD) - 18 top ideas selected from 93 entries to the “Designing Hanoi Creative Space” contest have been honored. The contest, co-held by the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports and the Architecture Magazine, is part of the capital city’s commitment as a member of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network (UCCN).

Among the honorees are the “Red River Artistic District” in Phuc Tan commune, Hoan Kiem district, which advocates green space indoor and outdoor for creative activities, and Train District 4.0 at the Gia Lam train factory which wants to connects tech startups. Hanoi Artistic Path and Hanoi’s Old Quarter also received the honor.  

Experts suggested that preservation of core values and characteristics of the old buildings and addition of contemporary elements should get along well like a breath of fresh air.

Roughly two years since its accession to UCCN, Hanoi has engaged in a plethora of creative ideas to realize its ambition of becoming a capital of design and innovation in Southeast Asia.

The contest was launched to encourage ideas and solutions to renovate creative spaces destined to evolve into popular tourist destinations and wonderful entertainment hubs in Hanoi.
