(VOVWORLD) - Hanoi authority on Wednesday morning put parts of Me Tri ward in Nam Tu Liem district and a pizza restaurant on Tran Thai Tong street, Cau Giay district, under lock-down, following the detection of a suspected positive case of COVID-19, said the Cau Giay District People's Committee.

The suspected case is a 23-year-old male worker, who lives in Me Tri ward and works for the pizza restaurant.  He was in Da Nang from July 12 to 15 for a summer holiday with 29 family members.

Last Thursday the man expanded a mild fever and coughing with thick phlegm. On Tuesday he went to the National Hospital of Tropical Diseases for an examination and was hospitalized under quarantine. The first test result showed that he was positive for SARS-CoV-2.

Police have cordoned off an area of 30 square meters around the restaurant and restricted movement in the area. 10 employees have been told to wear masks and remain inside.

At a meeting of the National Steering Committee on Respiratory Diseases on Wednesday morning, experts warned of more new COVID-19 cases  as they analysed the epidemiological situation in Da Nang and  travel and exchanges between Da Nang and other cities including Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

The Steering Committee members said people must strictly wear masks in crowded places, especially when traveling on public transport, maintain personal hygiene, and wash hands with hand sanitizer. There are basically no travel restrictions but experts recommended that people should not go out if not necessary.
