HCM city to welcome Lunar New Year with special festival

(VOVWORLD) - A 4-day Tet (Lunar New Year) festival will take place at Le Van Tam park in Ho Chi Minh City next Thursday, with a range of special activities honoring Vietnamese culture and food.
The municipal Department of Tourism and the Vietnam Cuisine Culture Association (VCCA) said the event will feature 100 booths displaying various products.

Festivalgoers will engage in exchanges with artisans and famous figures.

Traditional and contemporary art programs will be performed along with a ceremony to plant a neu pole - a tall bamboo tree with strips of red material used to ward off evil spirits during Tet - and 3 spaces showing how people in 3 regions of Vietnam celebrate Tet.
