Ho Chi Minh City promotes tourism in Australia

(VOVWORLD) -100 delegates from travel agents and companies in the Australian state of New South Wales participated in the Vietnam-Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Promotion program held last Friday at Jackson Sydney Harbor Luxury Cruise, Darling Harbour, Sydney.

This was the largest tourism promotion event in the Australian market and the first in a series of tourism promotion activities in Australia jointly organized by Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism and Vietnamese diplomatic missions there.

The program focused on B2B meetings to directly connect tourism businesses of the two countries and introduction of new products of Vietnam and Ho Chi Minh City, the items specifically designed for the Australian market, and cooperation opportunities to increase the number of visitors for both sides.

Nguyen Thi Anh Hoa, director of the municipal Department of Tourism, said HCMC offered tours targeting high-class customer group such as golfing.

Australian businesses said that Australians have greater demand to visit Vietnam which can be seen in the increase of air ticket sales and room bookings.   

After the roadshow in Sydney, the Vietnam-Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Promotion Program will be held on Monday at Crown Promenade Hotel in Melbourne.

A similar program will then take place in Brisbane on Wednesday.
