Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, there was only a single performance with no live audience. The show was broadcast live on TV and streamed on several digital platforms.

In a pre-recorded speech, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc extended his New Year wishes to 5.3 million overseas Vietnamese and called on all Vietnamese to stay united to create breakthrough developments for Vietnam.

He said, “2021 is the first year in Vietnam’s five-year socio-economic development plan, and in its strategy until 2030 with a vision to 2045. I hope that Vietnamese inside and outside Vietnam will combine their strength and be determined to put Vietnam on a par with other countries. I wish you all a new year full of health, happiness, and success, and I hope the COVID-19 pandemic will soon be contained, so more Vietnamese people can come back to their homeland”.
