(VOVworld)- Many activities are underway to celebrate the Hung Kings’ Temple Festival which will open this Saturday in the northern province of Phu Tho.

Local authorities have organized volleyball, chess, wrestling, and crossbowing tournaments and launched a film screening program at the Hung Kings Temple relic site. The provincial People's Committee Chairman Ha Ke San said: "There will be a range of new activities this year, including a palanquin procession ceremony from six surrounding communes to the Hung King Temple. The activity not only honors our ancestors but also contributes to the dossier to be submitted to UNESCO for recognition of the Hung King Temple Festival as a world intangible heritage. Festive activities include many events to highlight Xoan singing, a newly recognized intangible heritage in need of urgent protection."
