Vida is among six Hungarian officials banned from entering the US for corruption accusation. The crowd carried EU and Norwegian flags, protesting against Prime Minister Orban's often anti-EU rhetoric as well as an ongoing bitter row with Oslo over civil organization funding. A speaker told the crowd that protestors will be back in greater numbers on November 17 if Vida and other accused tax officials don't resign within one week.
US charge d'affaires André Goodfriend announced the list of 6 Hungarian officials barred from entering the US, stating that the US had reliable information about their acts of corruption. Ildikó Vida was the first to admit to being on the list but rejected US accusations and declared that she would not resign.
