(VOVworld) - The UN’s International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) will give Vietnam an aid package of 22 million USD to relieve poverty, according to an agreement signed in Rome on Tuesday. The preferential funding will go to a humanitarian aid program in Ha Giang province, which helps farmers improve their methods and apply climate change adaptive production technologies to boost their productivity. As many as 30,000 poor households in five districts - Bac Quang, Hoang Su Phi, Quang Binh, Vi Xuyen, and Xin Man - will benefit from the project.

The IFAD has so far provided 283.4 million USD to 10 poverty alleviation projects in Vietnam, benefiting 539,270 households.
