Implementing judicial reform in parallel with legislative and executive activities
(VOVworld) – The Central Steering Committee for Judicial Reform, led by President Truong Tan Sang, worked with the Party Affairs Committee and leaders of the People’s Supreme Court and the People’s Supreme Procuracy on the implementation of the Judicial Reform Strategy until 2020, and judicial reform results in the first half of the year.

The President underscored the need to clarify the term “judicial right” in order to appropriately elaborate it in laws in line with Vietnam’s political character. He asked to institutionalize the central role of the court and the procuracy in the Laws on the Organization of the People’s Court and the Procuracy in line with the 2013 Constitution. President Truong Tan Sang said: “Democratization in judicial reform has generated good results and received the people’s appreciation. Judicial and procedural agencies have been proactive in resolving unjust cases and frankly accepted and corrected their mistakes.”
President Truong Tan Sang asked the court and procuracy sectors to enhance communications regarding the Constitution and examine judicial reform results over the past 8 years to draw lessons for the future.
