(VOVworld)_ Deputy Prime Minister Vu Van Ninh chaired a meeting with a number of relevant ministries and sectors on the implementation of Decree 67 on incentives for fisheries development.

Many ships have been built under Decree 67

Since the Decree took effect 5 months ago, 5 cities and provinces have provided insurance worth more than 300 million USD for fishermen. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has invested more than 19 billion USD in fisheries development projects. Many policies and programs have been put in place to boost the development of the fisheries sector. Deputy Prime Minister Vu Van Ninh said:“We have been on the right track and gained some initial results. It’s necessary to be consistent with the goal of enhancing fisheries production in combination with defending national maritime sovereignty”.

He suggested ministries and sectors continue mobilizing more resources for fisheries development and facilitate people to access credits as stipulated in Decree 67,
