(VOVworld) - Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has urged Pakistan to take action against those behind a deadly assault on an air base that killed 7 Indian soldiers. Mr. Modi urged an "immediate" response to the Pathankot airbase attack in Punjab after his counterpart Nawaz Sharif telephoned him to discuss the attack. Indian officials said Mr. Sharif promised to take "prompt and decisive action against the terrorists". India's Press Information Bureau said India had provided Pakistan with "specific and actionable" information on the attack. Some Indian security officials have suggested the Pakistan-based Islamist militant group Jaish-e-Mohammed was to blame for the attack. The group carried out the attack targeting India’s Parliament in 2001.
