Indian Lower House Speaker works with Quang Ninh province

(VOVWORLD) -Indian Lower House Speaker Om Birla on Wednesday visited Ha Long Bay, a world heritage site in Quang Ninh province as part of his official visit to Vietnam.

He met  Nguyen Xuan Ky, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Council of Quang Ninh, who expressed his hope that through this visit, Mr. Om Birla will connect more Indian investors with Quang Ninh to do business there, especially in IT, high-tech medicine, culture industry, and creative entertainment industry.

Mr. Ky suggested the early opening of air routes from India to Quang Ninh to boost tourism between the two countries.

Quang Ninh will actively contribute to strengthening the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and Indian as the two countries are marking the 50th anniversary of their diplomatic relations this year, he said.

The Speaker of the Lower House praised the cooperation between Quang Ninh province and the Indian Embassy in Vietnam and suggested that Quang Ninh consider twinning with some Indian states with similar conditions and characteristics, thereby promoting people-to-people diplomacy and tourism development.
