(VOVworld) - Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh submitted his resignation to President Pranab Mukherjee on May 17 after the failure of his United Progressive Alliance, UPA, in the Lower House election on May 12.
Mammohan Singh, a famous economist, was Indian Prime Minister in 10-year tenure of two UPA governments.

BJP parliamentary board convened its first meeting the same day to prepare for the appointment of Narendra Modi as Prime Minister.
