The exhibition shows the close historic connection between France and Indochina through 9 thematic displays, which include “French people in Indochina”, “Vietnamese in France from 1914 to 1945”, “V means Vietnam” and “Regards and Paris Match Magazine: Wars in Vietnam”. The exhibition features French figures who had close relations with Vietnam such as engineer Marcel Legris in Sai Gon, writer Paul Monet in Hanoi and the L’ Humanite newspaper’s correspondents in Vietnam. Nguyen Van Bon, Former Vice Chairman of the Vietnamese Association in France, who helped to research documents, photos and objects for the exhibition, said: "The exhibition includes many documents found and presented by historian Alain Rouscio or France’s Communist Party showing the struggles of French people and the Vietnamese community in France during the war time in Vietnam. More than 90 percent of the documents are original documents about the struggles of French people, especially France’s Communist Party and the French young people who supported Vietnam’s resistance war".

The exhibition has attracted many French, Vietnamese and foreign visitors. Frederick Genevee, Chairman of France’s Museum of Living History said: "French and Vietnamese visitors cannot hold back their tears when they look at the photos and objects here. Over 60 years have passed. Many came here to recall memories of the past. At the exhibition, viewers see images of France’s affection for Indochina and Vietnam and solidarity in protesting the war in Vietnam".

The exhibition is an important activity of the France-Vietnam Year and marks 40th anniversary of the signing of the Paris Accord. The exhibition is located in the park where the monument of President Ho Chi Minh sits.
